Senior Helpers of Northeast Wisconsin is seeking a compassionate, patient, and dependable Experienced Home Care Caregiver to provide personalized one-on-one support for a client in the Oshkosh area.

Experience supporting individuals with Down syndrome is strongly preferred. We also encourage candidates with experience in developmental disabilities, intellectual disabilities, behavioral support, autism, special needs care, or other person-centered caregiving roles to apply.

What You'll Do

As an Experienced Home Care Caregiver, you'll provide compassionate, one-on-one support while encouraging independence, confidence, and overall well-being.

Responsibilities include:

  • Build a trusting, supportive relationship with the client
  • Encourage independence while providing appropriate assistance
  • Assist with personal care and activities of daily living
  • Support daily routines, hobbies, recreation, and community involvement
  • Prepare meals and assist with light housekeeping
  • Provide transportation to appointments, activities, and community outings
  • Maintain a safe, structured, and positive environment
  • Monitor the client's well-being and communicate updates with the care team
  • Deliver compassionate, respectful, person-centered care tailored to the individual's needs
Qualifications

  • Experience supporting individuals with Down syndrome strongly preferred
  • Experience working with developmental disabilities, intellectual disabilities, autism, or other special needs populations is highly valued
  • Previous caregiving experience preferred
  • Compassionate, patient, dependable, and professional attitude
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Reliable vehicle with current auto insurance
  • Ability to pass a background check
